Annual Rural Education
and Small Schools Conferences

For a variety of reasons unknown to us, the total registration for the 28th Annual Rural and Small Schools Conference scheduled for February 24-25 is down drastically. To insure a quality experience for conference participants, we have decided it would be best to cancel the conference events planned for Monday, February 25.

The Sunday evening banquet will still be held as planned at 6:00 at the Clarion Hotel and will recognize SQE Essay Contest winners and the Rural Education Award winners. The meal price is $20 per person. If you would like to attend the banquet, we must have your reservation by this afternoon, February 21. You can call 785-532-5886 for banquet reservations or reply to this e-mail.

The afternoon program on Sunday, February 24, 2008 sponsored by Schools for Quality Education, Inc. is still scheduled. It will be held in the Clarion Hotel, Regency B1 beginning at 2:45 Sunday afternoon. Additional information about this program is available at www.coe.ksu.edu/sqe/events.html.

Thank you again for your continued support for the Center for Rural Education and Small Schools and for the Conference. We are sorry for any inconvenience that the cancellation of Monday’s program may cause you. We hope to see you on Sunday evening at the banquet.
