A One Day Forum on Making iPad Initiatives Successful

K-12 iPad Initiatives and Implementation Forum

The K-12 iPad Initiatives + Implementation Forum, sponsored by the K-State College of Education, is designed for school technology directors and administrators. The day’s focus will be on making an iPad Initiative successful. We will discuss your plans, answer your questions, and hear your concerns on all aspects of implementing an iPad Initiative.

These sessions will be open discussions for gathering and distributing information on the following topics:

  • Administrative
    • iPad Initiative planning, purchase, distribution, and maintenance

    • Apple Ecosystem and VPP on apps

    • Policy Issues – review what everyone uses and why

    • Staff Development – preparing them for the iPad

    • Curriculum Development - integrating the iPad into the curriculum

  • Technical
    • Infrastructure Considerations – deploying an MDM solution

    • iPad Management Solutions – the cloud services

    • BYOD – the good, the bad, & the ugly

    • Securing the iPad – physical and data

  • Successful Deployment


Participants intending to park on campus are required to purchase a parking permit. Permits (including the parking garage) are $5 per day and may be purchased by checking the appropriate space on the registration form. Prepayment for permits is required. Parking in the parking garage without a permit is $1.50/hour. Additional parking information will be provided in your registration information.


Registration will begin at 7.30 a.m. The forum will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at 3:30 p.m. Lunch is included in your registration fee. Space is limited so early registration is recommended. The forum registration fee will be refunded in full (less a $10 administrative fee) if notification is received by 5:00 p.m. on January 10.
