Tim Frey photo

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs in the College of Education at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. I teach courses in special education including: EDSP 323 Exceptional Student in the Secondary School, EDSP 844 Special Education in Secondary Schools, EDSP 778 Technology for Special Education, and EDSP 886 Seminar in Special Education. In addition, I supervise graduate practicum students in special education and serve on a number of college and department committees. My research focuses on using technology in the instructional design of professional development, in-service teacher education coursework, and practicum experiences.

Frey Family

I'm a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana (2005) with a Ph.D. in Special Education with emphases in teacher education, mild/moderate disabilities, and instructional systems technology. My Masters and Bachelor's degrees are from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. I am hold professional teacher's licensure in Nebraska, Kansas, and Indiana, in K-12 mild/moderate/adaptive disabilities. Before pursuing my Ph.D. at IU, I taught special education in Papillion, Nebraska and coached 7th grade volleyball.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1993. While working at a summer camp in Nebraska, I met (1996) and married (1997) the most wonderful woman in the world. We have three beautiful girls, Ericka, Elisia, and Emilia. In my personal time, I enjoy playing games with my family, following Denver Bronco Football, reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, working in the yard at our Manhattan home, playing the piano, and traveling.
