School Counselor Licensure
Students completing the 48-hour program master's degree in School Counseling leads to school counseling licensure in Kansas. It is designed to prepare dynamic, professional school counselors to be team leaders who implement comprehensive school counseling programs that are integral to the total educational system.
There are two options for licensure as a school counselor in the state of Kansas:

Individuals who already have a professional teaching license

Parallel pathway for individuals without a professional teaching license – requires additional field experiences over two semesters in schools
The master's degree in School Counseling program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
