Welcome to the English, Journalism, Speech, and Theater Education programs at Kansas State University! We are humbled by your interest in pursuing a teaching degree through the College of Education. We take great pride in preparing you, and supporting you, along the journey of becoming a licensed teacher. Below are just a few things that we want you to know:

  • Our program is designed to support you as you bring together all the knowledge and practices you will learn from content area coursework and apply it to the planning of engaging and impactful learning experiences for your future students. This degree focuses on reflection, discussion, and inquiry as we embrace the joy of teaching in literacy classrooms.
  • Kansas districts and districts across the nation are seeking well-prepared, passionate middle school and secondary literacy teachers. Graduates of our program have bright futures with endless opportunities.
  • The COE family will be by your side through your journey. From stepping foot into Bluemont Hall, to walking across the stage at Bramlage Coliseum, into your first classroom, and beyond. We can’t wait to watch you grow and progress through our program.
