Advocates for All

The College of Education’s longstanding commitment to diversity, social justice and inclusion is the bedrock on which our programs are built. Proudly, we do not offer a course called “diversity” because it’s woven into every aspect of our curriculum.

We’re ushering in second- and third-generations of existing programs and establishing new ones, like Call Me MISTER designed to attract men of color to the teaching profession. Our college’s Military/Veteran Educational Initiative came to life in 2012 after merging departmental and programmatic activities into a college-wide framework for preparing educators to serve military personnel, veterans and their families in educational settings.

The college has produced a number of documentaries with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion and posted them for educators to use for free. Our priority is to prepare you to effectively teach all students!
