Welcome to the Science Education program at Kansas State University! Our program prepares future (biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space) teachers with early immersion into science teaching and learning experiences in 6-12 science classrooms.
Our program is unique from all others in that we have an ecosystem model for preparing future 6-12 science teachers. Your experience exceeds far beyond the walls of a college classroom in preparing you to design, implement, and evaluate effective science instruction. Plus, you will have the opportunity to present at National Conferences.
Mentorship does not end at graduation. We continue to support you through your first year of teaching and beyond. You will be connected with science teachers across the world to enhance your professional growth through varied programs and organizations such as the National Science Teaching Association
Our program is well known and districts reach out to us continually for our College of Education 6-12 science education graduates. We currently have a 100% job placement rate.
Your classroom on campus is your laboratory. You will have optimal space to plan instruction, design innovative lessons, and practice laboratories in preparation for field experiences. You will have access to resources such as iPads, scientific probes/sensors, digital microscopes, collaborative active tables, drones, multiple types of 3D-printers, and so much more.
