The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) provides an innovative pathway to teaching for those with a bachelor’s degree through rigorous online coursework and field experiences at an accredited school. Qualified students can earn a MAT and recommendation for a Kansas initial teaching license in 12 months, with pathways in elementary, math, modern languages, English, social studies and agricultural education.
The M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction requires a minimum of 31 hours of graduate credits. Three hours in each of these core areas is required: curriculum, teaching and learning, meeting the needs of all students, educational technology, and research and scholarship. In addition, at least 15 hours in an area of specialization are required.
