Elementary Education Bachelor's Degree
This program is available on campus and through K-State Online. The Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education is built on the mission of “preparing educators to be knowledgeable, ethical, caring decision makers for a changing world.” The program provides future PK-6 teachers with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, including instructional strategies, techniques for planning, classroom management and assessment, and strategies for adjusting instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Elementary education is a career where you can find satisfaction in helping children learn, work closely with other caring adults, be challenged by organizing information and communicating it to others, and contribute to the future of the world by educating tomorrow’s leaders.

Bachelor of Science in Education Curriculum
Candidates preparing to seek PK-6 teacher licensure concentrate studies in three areas:
K-State Core
Courses in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, biological, natural and physical sciences will expand your world. A sound general education is especially important for elementary teachers who are called upon to teach every subject to children.
Teacher Education Program Requirements
The professional portion combines education coursework with hands-on classroom experience, including observations, teaching lessons and a full-semester student teaching internship supported by experienced educators.
Professional and Educational Service Hours
Forty hours of service are required. There are two areas in this professional development component of your teacher preparation: Professional growth/service to the profession Educational service to youth and families or caregivers
