Kansas Community College Teacher Pathway Scholarship
K-State’s College of Education is committed to helping future teachers succeed — and one of the ways we’re tackling the Kansas teacher shortage head-on is through the Kansas Community College Teacher Pathway Scholarship.
This program offers $10,000 in financial support ($2,500 per semester for four semesters) to eligible transfer students pursuing a teaching degree at K-State. Ten scholarships are reserved for each Kansas community college, making this an exclusive opportunity designed just for you.

- Currently enrolled in a Kansas community college
- Completion of 45 credit hours before transferring (preference for students completing an associate’s degree)
- Kansas residency with the intention to teach in Kansas
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a College of Education degree program, beginning in the summer or fall 2026
- Agriculture Education, Music Education, Early Childhood Education and Family and Consumer Sciences Education are collaborative degree programs that are housed in different colleges and therefore are not eligible for this scholarship.

5. Register for Orientation - Once you receive your official acceptance letter, you can sign up for orientation and complete the online modules.
6. Make an Online Enrollment Appointment - You’ll connect one-on-one with an advisor, who will help you review your transfer credits and how they will apply toward your K-State degree, and enroll in classes for your first semester at K-State.

Frequently Asked Questions
A campus visit is an excellent first step to transferring to K-State. Transfer students who have satisfied all the admission requirements should apply at the time of initial enrollment. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the colleges and universities you previously attended to the K-State Office of Recruitment and Admissions at k-state@k-state.edu. It depends on where your hours are coming from and whether the hours you have taken will apply toward the graduation requirements for your desired degree. When transferring from a regionally accredited two-year college, you can transfer up to 75 credit hours required for a K-State degree. Review K-State’s Transfer Credit Policy. If you are transferring from a four-year college or university, you can transfer up to 90 credit hours. To determine how courses transfer to K-State, visit the Transfer Equivalency site. You must have a minimum of 30 hours in residence at K-State to receive a K-State degree, and 20 of the last 30 hours for your degree must be from K-State. Once enrolled at K-State, students who want to take additional courses from another college or university and have the credits transferred to K-State need to confer with their advisor. To determine how courses transfer to K-State, visit the Transfer Equivalency site. In general, grades from transfer credits do not transfer to K-State. In the College of Education, we use transfer grades from other colleges, along with your K-State grades, for the GPA used for Admission to Teacher Education and Student Teaching. While students in the Agricultural Education, Music Education, Early Childhood Education and Family and Consumer Science Education programs take courses in the College of Education, these programs are part of the Colleges of Agriculture, Arts and Sciences and Health and Human Sciences. Students enrolled in programs outside the College of Education are not eligible for the Kansas Community College Teacher Pathway Scholarship program.
